An ambitious “green” plan guided the renovation and construction of this building, which would eventually be transformed into the new corporate headquarters of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. LEED® certification was one of the project’s goals. So was touching every possible room with natural light. Designer Accents was called upon to control that light with 380 motorized and manual roller shades, plus custom drapery. We also integrated motorized roller shades into the sound and AV system so when a presenter shows a video, for example, the shades go down, the lighting is adjusted, and the sound level is set – simultaneously and automatically. And despite the fact that the design team chose specific products with specific fabrics from a specific manufacturer, Designer Accents was able to suggest and deliver alternative roller shade fabrics that matched the performance and reduced the cost.
